Nagaland comes alive every December, and nowhere is that more visible than at the Hornbill Festival. This 6-day trip takes you through Kohima’s tribal heartland — from the pulsing Morung stalls of Kisama Heritage Village to the quiet terraced fields of Khonoma — giving you a real feel of Naga culture, not just a festival glimpse.
Land at Dimapur airport or railway station, where our team will receive you and drive you to Kohima. Check in to your hotel and settle in for the evening.
Head to Kisama, the official venue of the Hornbill Festival, and spend the day soaking in the colours, music and craft stalls that represent every Naga tribe.
Continue exploring the Morungs at Kisama, each one representing a different tribe. In the evening, join the Night Carnival for live performances and a great atmosphere.
Visit Khonoma, famous for its old-world terrace farming and conservation efforts, followed by the scenic Dzuleke village. Stop by the Kohima War Cemetery before returning to the hotel.
Back at Kisama for a final round of tribal dance performances, local wine and rice beer tastings across the Morungs.
After breakfast, transfer to Dimapur airport or railway station for your onward journey.
