If one trip could show you every shade of the North East, this is it. Fourteen days take you from the ghats of the Brahmaputra to the snow-lit monasteries of Tawang, through the rhino grasslands of Kaziranga, the war-scarred hills of Kohima, and the misty cliffs of Cherrapunji. Dream Safar has strung together the region’s most loved stops into one unhurried journey — long enough to actually settle into each place, short enough to still feel like a holiday.
Land in Guwahati and drive straight to Bomdila, breaking journey at Bhalukpong and the Tipi Orchidarium, home to over 300 orchid species. Check into your hotel and, if time allows, browse Bomdila's craft centre for hand-carved wooden pieces and masks. Overnight in Bomdila.
Head for Tawang via Jaswant Garh war memorial, the high-altitude Sela Pass, and the orchard town of Dirang. Evening free to settle in. Overnight in Tawang.
A full day around Tawang — the grand Tawang Monastery, a short trek to the centuries-old AniGompa nunnery, the Urgelling Monastery (birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama), and a stop at a Monpa village. Overnight in Tawang.
Drive back toward Bomdila, stopping at the Jaswant Singh war memorial and taking in views of snow peaks Kangto, Nyegikangsang, and Gorichen along the way. Overnight in Bomdila.
Visit the striking Bomdila Monastery before setting off toward Kaziranga, passing through Dirang. Evening at leisure — hot springs and a sheep farm nearby for those who want to explore further.
Rise early for an elephant safari through the park's western range — a close encounter with the one-horned rhino, wild buffalo, and migratory birds. Later, a jeep safari and a walk through Assam's tea gardens round out the day.
Drive to Nagaland, stopping at the Garampani hot spring en route. Check in and relax for the evening. Overnight in Kohima.
Visit Kohima Village with its traditional wooden gate carvings, the moving Kohima War Cemetery, and the State Museum's tribal artefact collection. Overnight in Kohima.
Drive to Imphal and check in for the night.
Onward drive to Silchar, a quieter corner of Assam known for its blend of culture and calm.
Head into Meghalaya's pine-covered capital. Evening free to explore at your own pace. Overnight in Shillong.
A city tour covering Ward's Lake, Lady Hydari Park, Shillong's old colonial churches, and the panoramic Shillong Peak. Evening free for the local market.
Full day in Cherrapunji, once famed as the wettest place on earth. Explore Mawmluh Cave, Nohsngithiang (Mawsmai) Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, and pick up local honey and orange preserves before returning to Shillong.
Stop at Umiam Lake before arriving in Guwahati in time for your onward flight. Tour concludes here.
