Your journey begins with a pickup from Shimla or Chandigarh. Drive through pine-covered hills and quiet mountain villages, stopping at the Pandoh Dam viewpoint along the way, before settling into the calm of Barot Valley. End the day around a bonfire (seasonal), with an overnight stay in Barot.
After breakfast, head to Prashar Lake — famous for its floating island and centuries-old temple. From there, drive through the lush tea estates of Palampur before reaching Dharamshala for the night.
A full day to soak in the spiritual and cultural side of Himachal. Visit the Dalai Lama Temple, wander through McLeodganj Market, cool off at Bhagsu Waterfall, and stop by Bhagsunag Temple, St. John in the Wilderness Church, Naddi View Point and the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium. Overnight in Dharamshala.
Drive to the emerald meadows of Khajjiar, try optional horse riding, and visit the Khajji Nag Temple. Continue to Dalhousie for an evening stroll along Mall Road and Gandhi Chowk, with a stop at Panchpula. Overnight in Dalhousie.
After a relaxed breakfast, drive back towards Dharamshala with optional stops for local handicraft shopping and sightseeing at the Norbulingka Institute before your trip concludes.
