This 5-day trip takes you through the heart of God’s Own Country, from the houseboats of Kumarakom to the golden sands of Kovalam, with a day trip to Kanyakumari for good measure. Dream Safar has put this route together for travellers who want to slow down, breathe easy, and take Kerala in at its own pace.
Land in Cochin and get picked up by our Dream Safar representative for the drive to Kumarakom, often called the Venice of the East. This cluster of island villages along Vembanad Lake is the perfect place to unwind after your flight. Check in, settle down, and later in the evening, step aboard a sunset cruise on the lake. Dinner and overnight stay in Kumarakom.
After breakfast, head to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary (entry fee payable directly), a 15-acre haven where migratory birds such as herons, egrets, and kingfishers gather in large numbers. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the resort or book an Ayurvedic massage at an extra cost, if you feel like some pampering. Dinner and overnight stay in Kumarakom.
Check out after breakfast and drive down to Kovalam, a beach town known for its calm coves and dramatic headlands. Once you check in, spend the evening walking along the famous Lighthouse Beach as the sun goes down over the Arabian Sea. Dinner and overnight stay in Kovalam.
Start the day with a visit to Napier Museum in Trivandrum (entry fee payable directly), known for its distinct architecture, followed by a stop at the revered Padmanabhaswamy Temple. From there, drive to Kanyakumari (extra charges apply), the southernmost point of the Indian mainland, where three seas meet. Visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, built on the very rock where the monk is believed to have meditated. Return to Kovalam by evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Trivandrum airport for your flight home, carrying back memories of backwaters, beaches, and everything in between.
