Tucked away in India’s far northeast, Nagaland is a land the mainstream travel crowd hasn’t discovered yet — rolling green hills, warrior tribes, misty villages and a culture unlike anywhere else in the country. This 5-day trip takes you through Dimapur and Kohima, covering war history, heritage villages, waterfalls and local markets, at a pace that’s easy and unhurried. Dream Safar puts together everything you need — stay, transport and sightseeing — so you can just show up and explore.
Land in Dimapur and get picked up for the scenic 2-hour drive to Kohima. Check into your hotel and settle in for the evening — the hill air here is a nice welcome after the journey.
After breakfast, spend the day exploring Kohima — the War Cemetery, the State Museum and the Naga Heritage Village, which brings together the traditions of Nagaland's many tribes under one roof. Overnight in Kohima.
Head out to Khonoma, known as India's first green village and famous for its conservation efforts. Continue to the quiet hamlet of Dzuleke and the Poilwa tea estate before returning to Kohima for the night.
Check out and drive back to Dimapur. Once you've settled in, explore the Kachari Ruins, the Zoological Park, Triple Falls and the view point at Chumukedima, then wrap up with some shopping at the local craft market. Overnight in Dimapur.
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Dimapur airport for your onward journey home.
