Overview

If one trip could show you every shade of the North East, this is it. Fourteen days take you from the ghats of the Brahmaputra to the snow-lit monasteries of Tawang, through the rhino grasslands of Kaziranga, the war-scarred hills of Kohima, and the misty cliffs of Cherrapunji. Dream Safar has strung together the region’s most loved stops into one unhurried journey — long enough to actually settle into each place, short enough to still feel like a holiday.

Highlights

  • Drive through Bhalukpong and Dirang to reach Bomdila and Tawang, deep in the Himalayan folds of Arunachal Pradesh
  • Visit the 400-year-old Tawang Monastery, one of the largest in the world, and the peaceful AniGompa nunnery nearby
  • Cross the dramatic Sela Pass and pay respects at the Jaswant Garh war memorial
  • Spot the one-horned rhino on an elephant safari and jeep safari inside Kaziranga National Park
  • Explore Kohima's war cemetery and soak in Naga culture and craft
  • Wander Imphal's Loktak Lake and the historic Kangla Fort
  • Chase waterfalls in Cherrapunji — Mawsmai Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, and the limestone Mawmluh Caves
  • Unwind in Shillong, the "Scotland of the East," with its pine hills, Ward's Lake, and Shillong Peak viewpoints
  • End your journey at Umiam Lake before flying out from Guwahati
