Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong

Land at Guwahati airport and drive straight to Shillong, the "Scotland of the East." Break the journey at Umiam Lake for photos (and water sports, if you're up for it). Once you check in, spend the evening browsing Police Bazaar, Shillong's busiest local market. Overnight in Shillong.

Day 2: Laitlum Canyons & Krang Suri Falls

After breakfast, head to Laitlum Canyons for sweeping valley views, then on to Krang Suri Falls, one of Meghalaya's prettiest waterfalls, with a natural pool you can swim in. Return to Shillong for the night.

Day 3: Mawlynnong & Dawki – Onward to Cherrapunjee

Visit Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia, known for its living root bridge and quirky balancing rock. Continue to Dawki near the Bangladesh border for a boat ride on the crystal-clear Umngot River. In the evening, drive to Cherrapunjee and check in. Overnight in Cherrapunjee.

A quick heads-up: Cherrapunjee and Dawki are remote and naturally stunning, but facilities are basic — expect simple 3-star-equivalent stays with limited vegetarian options.

Day 4: Cherrapunjee Sightseeing

Spend the day exploring Eco Park, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave, and Thangkharang Park. Adventure seekers can opt for a full-day trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge and onward to Rainbow Falls (closed Sundays). Overnight in Cherrapunjee.

Day 5: Cherrapunjee to Guwahati

Drive to Guwahati and check in. Visit Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra to get a feel for Assamese culture, and round off the evening with an optional sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra. Overnight in Guwahati.

Day 6: Guwahati Sightseeing – Departure

After breakfast, check out and visit the Kamakhya Temple before heading to the airport for your onward journey.
