There’s something about the Eastern Himalayas that stays with you long after the trip ends — the mist rolling over Tsomgo Lake, the first golden light hitting Kanchenjunga from Tiger Hill, the toy train whistling through Darjeeling’s tea gardens. This Gangtok-Darjeeling package by Dream Safar is built for travellers who want the big Himalayan moments without the running-around, with comfortable stays and a route that flows naturally from one hill town to the next.
Prices may vary based on travel dates, hotel availability and seasonal demand. Contact Dream Safar for the latest rates and customisation options.
Arrive at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, where our representative will greet you and drive you up to Gangtok along the Teesta river, with mountains and valleys keeping you company the whole way. Check in, settle down, and spend the evening strolling M.G. Marg at your own pace. Overnight in Gangtok.
After breakfast, head out to Tsomgo Lake, an oval-shaped glacial lake about 55 km from the city, sitting at one of the highest points in the East Sikkim Himalayas. Visit Baba Mandir on the way. Those keen on going further can opt for a Nathula Pass excursion (permit-dependent, not advisable for children under 5 due to altitude). Return to Gangtok for the night.
Check out after breakfast and drive to Darjeeling. Spend the evening at leisure, or hop onto the iconic toy train for a short ride through the hills (tickets on your own). Travellers who'd like to break the journey can add a half-day Namchi sightseeing stop en route, covering Char Dham, Samdruptse Hill, the ropeway and Sai Mandir. Overnight in Darjeeling.
Set out for a morning of sightseeing covering Mirik Lake, Sevana viewpoint, the Nepal border, orange orchards and Pashupati Market. Return to Darjeeling for the night, tea gardens and mountain air all around you.
After breakfast, check out and transfer to NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey, carrying back more photographs than you know what to do with.
