Round off the day with a visit to Akhaura border to catch the flag exchange ceremony.
Morning visit to Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, home to gibbons, deer and a rich mix of bird life. Continue to Neermahal, the beautiful lake palace, for a boat ride and lunch by the water. Drive on to Udaipur, Tripura's temple town, for the night.
Visit Tripureshwari Temple, known for its resident soft-shelled turtles found nowhere else on earth. Later, head to Dumboor Lake — a serene, island-studded lake framed by forest. Overnight in Udaipur.
Explore Udaipur's local temples before setting off to see the striking Chabimura rock carvings on the banks of the Gomati River, dating back to the 15th century. Return to Agartala for the night.
Drive to Unakoti, a centuries-old pilgrimage site famed for its giant stone-carved Shiva head and surrounding rock art. Overnight stay at Dharmanagar.
Head up to Jampui Hills, Tripura's highest range, known for orange orchards, coffee plantations and sweeping valley views. Overnight amid the hills.
Return to Agartala with time for some last-minute shopping at Purbasha for authentic Tripura handicrafts, before your onward journey.
