Meghalaya isn’t just a destination, it’s a mood — misty hills, living root bridges, waterfalls tumbling out of nowhere, and villages so clean they’ll make you rethink what “clean” means. This 6-day trail with Dream Safar takes you through the best of it, from Shillong’s rolling greens to Dawki’s glass-clear river.
Land in Guwahati and set off for Shillong. On the way, stop at Umiam Lake for a breather amid the hills. Check into your hotel by evening and, if time allows, take a stroll through Police Bazaar. Overnight in Shillong.
After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee, stopping at Elephant Falls along the way. Spend the day exploring the region famous for its rainfall — Nohsngithiang Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Arwa Cave and Thangkharang Park. Overnight in Cherrapunjee.
Head to Mawlynnong, Asia's cleanest village, and see its own living root bridge. Continue to Dawki for a boat ride on the Umngot River, famous for water so clear it looks like glass. Drive back to Shillong for the night.
A day trip to Jowai covers Laitlum Canyon and Krang Suri Falls, two of Meghalaya's most photogenic spots. Return to Shillong by evening.
Visit Mawsynram, one of the wettest places on the planet, and take in the Shivalinga at Mawjymbuin Cave, Krem Puri, Jakrem hot spring, and the region's sacred forest. Overnight in Shillong.
After breakfast, cover Shillong's city highlights — Don Bosco Museum, the Cathedral Church, Lady Hydari Park and Ward's Lake — before transferring to Guwahati airport or railway station for your onward journey.
