Tucked away on the Nagaland-Manipur border, Dzukou Valley is one of North East India’s best-kept secrets. Locals call it the Valley of Flowers, and one look at its rolling green hills, quiet streams, and carpets of dwarf bamboo will tell you why. This isn’t grass swaying in the wind — it’s a rare bamboo variety that barely grows past four feet, giving the whole valley a soft, otherworldly feel. Add a trek through pine forests, a night under a star-filled sky, and a peek into Naga culture in Kohima, and you have a trip that stays with you long after you’re back home.
Dream Safar puts together this trek for travellers who want more than just sightseeing — a real trail, a proper camp, and views that make the climb worth every step.
Prices may vary based on travel dates, hotel availability, and seasonal demand. Get in touch with Dream Safar for the latest rates and availability.
Land in Dimapur and get picked up by your Dream Safar driver-cum-guide, who'll take you straight to Kohima, the capital of Nagaland and the gateway to Dzukou Valley. Check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring the town at your own pace. Overnight in Kohima.
After breakfast, head to Viswema village, the starting point for the Dzukou trek. From here, a roughly 3-hour trek through forest trails brings you to the valley, where you'll camp for the night near the Rest House.
Spend the morning trekking further into the plains of Dzukou — this is where the valley truly opens up, and it's the highlight for anyone chasing that adventure high. Wander through the flower-dotted meadows before heading back to camp. As evening falls, the sky over Dzukou puts on a show that's worth every step it took to get here. Overnight camping.
Start early and trek back down to the base camp, a descent of about 2 hours. From there, it's a short drive to Kohima for an afternoon of sightseeing — the Kohima War Cemetery, Kisama Heritage Village, and the Nagaland State Museum are all on today's list. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Dimapur Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey home.
