Sikkim is one of those places that doesn’t just sit on your itinerary, it stays with you long after you’ve left. This 6-day journey through Gangtok and North Sikkim takes you from the buzzing lanes of MG Marg to the silence of Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, and through the flower-carpeted meadows of Yumthang Valley. Along the way you’ll cross alpine villages, glacial rivers, and mountain passes that make you stop the car just to look. It’s a trip built for travellers who want the Himalayas without the crowds.

Land at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, where our representative will be waiting to receive you. Settle in for a scenic drive up to Gangtok. Check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, perhaps wandering down MG Marg for a coffee and some local shopping. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
After breakfast, head out to Tsongmo Lake, sitting at nearly 3,780 metres and home to migratory birds and the occasional brahminy duck. From there, visit Baba Mandir, a shrine known for its peaceful atmosphere. On the return drive, you'll pass close to the famous Nathula Pass (visit is optional and chargeable separately). Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Set off for Lachen, a quiet village perched at 9,500 ft. The drive itself is half the experience, taking you past snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows, the hamlet of Chungthang, and the Kanchenjunga National Park. Stop at Singhik viewpoint for uninterrupted views of Kanchenjunga, and pause at Naga Falls along the way. Overnight stay in Lachen.
An early start, around 6 AM, takes you to Gurudongmar Lake, a glacial lake sitting at 17,800 ft and counted among the highest lakes in the world. After soaking in the views, drive to Lachung, stopping at the confluence of the Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu rivers at Chungthang along the way. Overnight stay in Lachung.
After breakfast, visit Yumthang Valley, better known as the Valley of Flowers. Expect hot springs, grazing yaks, blooming rhododendrons, and a tributary of the Teesta river running through it all. It's easily one of the most photographed stops on this trip. Drive back to Gangtok in the evening. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
After breakfast, transfer to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station for your onward journey home, with memories of the mountains to keep.
